Seedling Update

This week I decided to transplant the garlic I started and the cilantro. In both cases the roots were coming out of the bottom and I still have some room under the light.

I started my seed trays on January 1st,
I am still waiting on the sage and chives I planted. The chives are supposed to germinate in 7-14 days and the sage germinates in 7-20 days. Hello!?! Is anyone home. I will have to scrap them soon.

My mini bells germinated at one million percent and I suppose I will have to thin them out or try to repot some of them. About 16 of them sprouted.

The peach sugar rush chilis are working on their second set of leaves.

I am excited about how the marjoram is growing and the thyme is doing even better. I raised the little herb starts up closer to the light than the chili peppers.

I decided the garlic might be happier in the window where it is cooler. From what I researched yesterday I am growing garlic entirely wrong. I should have started it weeks ago. There is also a trick you can use by putting cloves in the refrigerator several weeks before starting. I didn't really expect much from the cloves but am trying to preserve the legacy of the man who used to grow it.
HOORAY! I have a niece with a green thumb! Sorta makes up for the fact that I can kill cactus.... If it doesn't thrive on neglect, it will die in my house. When I try to take care of a plant, it just dies faster. My maternal grandmother had such beautiful flower beds and she used to have me help her weed them when I was a very little girl - probably too young to remember any of her teaching, unfortunately!
BTW that comment was from your Aunt Anne!
